Elizabeth Greer, an actress that has perhaps been under our radar starring in films such as ‘Smiley’, soon to be ‘Corbin Nash’ and hit TV show ‘Bates Motel’ in its season 4 premiere. I recently messaged her for the interview when I seen her follow me on Twitter on my personal site, when she agreed, I then proceeded to do the interview for THTT about her experience working on ‘Bates Motel’ and ‘Ray Donovan’, what’s next for her, and if she had any stories to tell from the industry (she did) read all that below.
TH Terror Time: You’ve starred in ‘Smiley’, ‘Bates Motel’, and soon to be ‘Corbin Nash’ why don’t you introduce yourself to my readers?
Elizabeth Greer: I’m a native New Yorker, born in NYC. I started acting at the age of 6. I went to NYU Tisch undergrad, where I studied with Stella Adler and got my BFA. I continued on to NY to do a lot of Off-Broadway, then proceeded to get my MFA in acting from the Yale school of drama. After grad school, I decided to come out to LA, to begin acting in film and television. I was lucky to meet my now husband and we have a beautiful 11 year old daughter. I’m so lucky to be able to have work in the business doing what I love to do most – create characters and tell stories.
THTT: You must have tons of stories to tell from your years in show business, can you tell me any?
EG: A moment I would never forget was when I was invited to the table read for my first episode of Ray Donovan. It felt like being invited to an Oscar party. To be seated next to the likes of Liev Schrieber, Elliot Gould, Steve Bauer, Jon Voight, Sherilyn Fenn and more – it was a very important moment for me in my artistic career.
THTT: So, you’ve starred in Ray Donovan with Liev Schreiber! I’ve been a big fan of Liev since his ‘Scream’ days! What was it like working with him?
EG: It was wonderful because he too is a graduate of the Yale school of drama, and even though we were not in school at the same time (he graduated several years before me) – we had an immediate bond because we were taught our craft by the same people.
THTT: What was it like on set Bates Motel?
EG: It was truly a dream! So fun to go toe to toe with awarded actress Vera Farmiga and to be flown out first class to Vancouver. I had the best trailer I’ve ever seen – it even had a fireplace – I felt so loved and appreciated. It always feels like Cinderella at the ball.
THTT: What can you tell me about Corbin Nash?
EG: Carmen Aiello is the casting director on that feature. He’s a wonderful guy. He brought me in to have a meeting with Ben Jagger and we just clicked. They offered me the role of Dorothy and I was thrilled to accept.
THTT: What can tell me about your character [In Corbin Nash]?
EG: All I can say is you’ll see me with a gun…
THTT: Have you seen Cory Feldman in character yet? I heard he’s going to be some sort of vampire!
EG: No, I’ve seen awesome pictures of him prepping for the role. I know he’ll tear it up!
THTT: I know you can’t disclose anything, but how’s the script? I know you’re like obligated to say “IT’S GREAT!” but tell me is it going to be a comedy or a horror flick?
EG: It’s a noir vampire horror feature, and yes, it’s great!
THTT: Can’t wait! So what can you tell me about your other newest roles in Medicine Man and In Embryo? In Embryo was really fun. My scene takes place in the old Norms diner where a lot of features have been shot. Medicine Man is a period piece. My scene is with the wonderful actor James Le Gros.
THTT: What will be next for you?
EG: I’m busy auditioning thanks to my amazing team and I’m in talks on a couple different projects right now. I’m also an acting coach for kids and teens 7 days a week. It’s something I really love. It keeps my engine warm for auditions myself. I haven’t been on stage in awhile, but a play might be in the near future – there’s nothing more thrilling than live theater.
THTT: Looking forward to hearing more from you, thanks Liz for having this interview with Terror Time!
EG: Thanks so much for having me! To learn more about me, you can visit my website or follow me on social media!
