The ‘A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET’ franchise has spawned some real musical gems over the years. Check out some of my favorite songs that were inspired by the Springwood Slasher himself:

Dokken–‘Dream Warriors’

This list isn’t in any particular order, but this has to be my number one. It is classic, catchy and it’s the theme from my favorite instalment of the franchise. If you don’t love this song, I am not sure that we can be friends.

DJ Jazzy Jeff &The Fresh Prince–‘Nightmare On My Street’

A Halloween party classic and it’s for good reason. It was originally supposed to be featured in NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER, but the producers of the film decided against it.

Shadow Windhawk – ‘1428’

This is a great horror punk tribute to Freddy Krueger and Wes Craven. The video is fantastic and the song will be stuck in your head for days. Check this one out!

The Fat Boys – ‘Are You Ready For Freddy?’

This song rules and the video makes it legendary. It actually features Freddy rapping; does it get better than that?

The Casket Creatures – ‘Springwood Slasher’

If you want a heavy yet haunting song about the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise, this is the song for you. Yes, I am aware this is shameless promotion!  But seriously… check it out.

Froggy Fresh – ‘Nightmare On My Street’

Don’t let the name confuse you, this song has nothing to do with the Fresh Prince song.  This one will probably not go down as a classic, but Froggy Fresh deserves some credit. This song introduces the world to Farty Krueger and the production value of the video is surprisingly good.

Hope you enjoyed these tributes to Freddy Krueger! What did we miss? What is your favorite NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET inspired song?
