Vertigo announces THE LOST BOYS sequel comic is in the works!

Edgar: “Read this.”

Sam:” I told you I don’t like horror comics.”

Alan:” Think of it more like a survival manual. There’s our number on the back and pray you never need to call us.”

Sam:” I’ll pray I never need to call you. Sure.” ~Scene dialogue from 1987 film, THE LOST BOYS

1987 gave us vampires that were sexy, bad to the bone and didn’t sparkle. THE LOST BOYS film has made its respective rightful place as one the most favored horror films of the eighties, and today we get the news we get to go back to Santa Carla on the pages of a new comic series.

Variety reports, on October 12th, we will receive a sequel comic book in the form of a new miniseries from Vertigo on behalf of Warner Bros. Consumer Products. The comic will feature the surviving characters from the film, and is being crafted by horror veterans, writer Tim Seeley (DC Comic alum) and artists Scott Godlewski (The Dark & Bloody), with covers by Tony Harris. Big hair, style and a gruesome, bloody return to the boardwalk!

The miniseries is set to pick up where the film left off. Some time has passed since our brothers from Arizona, Michael and Sam Emerson, moved to Santa Carla and went head to head with David, and his coven mates. Even though they rid the town of its vampires, Santa Carla has new band of fanged stunning badasses (known as the Blood Belles) coming to collect their sister, and Michael’s girlfriend, Star. Michael and Sam find themselves teaming back up with the sibling vampire hunters, Edgar and Alan Frog. Let the new plot begin!

Even though Wildstorm attempted a four-issue miniseries in 2008,” The Lost Boys: Reign of Frogs”, it was a reach even for the most understanding of fans making this news and its continuation to the film, exciting. Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. The fun ended for David and the boys. Will the next wave meet the same fate? Be on the lookout for Issue #1 this fall!

The cast from the film included: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Billy Wirth, Jamison Newlander, and Barnard Hughes.
