This is a “Gunn” show you will certainly want tickets too! Writer/director James Gunn took to Twitter and Facebook today to show off the first look at the poster for the upcoming horror film THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, of which Gunn is serving as writer and producer.

As seen in the recent trailer released by Gunn, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT takes place in a locked down office building in Bogota, Columbia, where a group of 80 employees is pitted against each other in a deranged social experiment. Guided by a singular voice echoing over the intercom system, the workers are forced to kill or be killed, as trackers implanted in their heads can and will explode if they don’t play along. Initially resolved to work together to find a way out, it doesn’t take long for people to start reverting to basic survival instincts as it becomes “game on.”

Taking to Twitter, Gunn announced the one sheet of the film:

In a follow up on his Facebook page, Gunn not only showed off the image of the poster but went into a bit more on the film:

Check out this exclusive first look at The Belko Experiment movie poster! This is the film I wrote and produced in-between Guardians movies, about a group of expatriates office workers locked in a building in South America and forced to kill one another. Tag the last person you’d kill in your workplace below and let them know you love them. Me? In my workplace, I’d kill Michael Rooker first and Sean Gunn last.
Belko is good, clean, incredibly intense, and bloody fun, and if you live in the US or Canada you can see it everywhere on March 17.
The movie stars Tony Goldwyn, John Gallagher Jr., Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Melonie Diaz, David Dastmalchian, Owain Yeoman, Brent Sexton, Gail Bean, Rusty Schwimmer, Josh Brener, David Del Rio, James Earl, Cindy Better, and Abraham Benrubi, not to mention the entire troupe of James Gunn performers including Rooker, Sean Gunn, Mikaela Hoover, Stephen Blackehart, Valentine Miele, and Joe Fria. Whew. Directed by Wolf Creek’s Greg McLean. Produced by me and Peter Safran.” ~James Gunn

While throwing people into a makeshift “arena” and forcing them to fight to the death is nothing new to cinema, including THE HUNGER GAMES and BATTLE ROYALE, James Gunn has the ability to tap into something new and entertaining, and can really take a look at social commentary and human instinct. If anything, Gunn has proven again and again that he can tell an amazing story, and it looks like he’s going to continue that streak.

While his next GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY releases May 5th, 2017, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT kicks off earlier on March 17th, 2017.

Are you excited for THE BELKO EXPERIMENT? Do you think it’s rehashing a theme that others have covered well? Will you check it out when it launches?
