While it’s expected that GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS will shoot in Qingdao, China, it looks like production will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 19th.

This isn’t too much of a surprise as Atlanta has quickly become the “American Toronto” for film and television production.

Before we get to squeal in our seats at the eventual face-off between the towering lizard king Godzilla and powerhouse King Kong we get to see the King of Monsters in some more city-destroying solo action, and it looks like we’re a few steps closer to that. Omega Underground believes they’ve spotted both the date the film starts production and where they will be kicking off from.

This comes during a steady stream of news about the project, also indicating that production is getting ready to ramp up to full speed. Recently it was announced that KRAMPUS director Michael Dougherty would be co-writing and helming the film, and “Stranger Things” superstar Millie Bobby Brown would be in the forefront of the picture.
