This December, FX wizard, producer & director Greg Nicotero – a creative force behind so many of our favorite horror films and TV shows including The Walking Dead, Day of the Dead, From Dusk Til Dawn, Creepshow, Army of Darkness, Masters of Horror, Annabelle and tons more – will join the esteemed ranks of lifetime honorees at the 17th annual New York City Film Festival.

Nicotero will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious genre fest, taking his place among horror legends like George A. Romero, Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, Adrienne Barbeau, Tony Todd, Roger Corman, Tom Savini and Robert Englund.

Nicotero first showcased his make-up mastery in Romero’s 1985 classic Day of the Dead, and never stopped working since, moving freely between FX work and producing hit TV series like AMC’s The Walking Dead and Shudder’s Creepshow.

The 2019 New York City Horror Film Festival opens on Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 pm at NYC’s Cinépolis Chelsea. The chills continue on Friday, December 6 at 7:00 pm, and then on Saturday, December 7 at 12:00 pm. On Saturday night, Nicotero will accept his Lifetime Achievement Award – and there’s still one more day of fright Sunday at Noon.
