In true solidarity and indie spirit, members of the horror community come together for Dark Offerings, a film to be created while under quarantine.
In the film’s synopsis, Sophia Hapgood is thrust into a horrifying world after her brother James brings her into a fatal situation. He passes a demon to her that she must spread to others within 6 days or else they both die. Sophia must make a choice to save her brother or find a way to end the curse in The Dark Offerings.
We caught up with director Marcus Slabine (The Last Call) who said “Dark Offerings is going to be begin shooting principal photography on May 18th in quarantine and is the FIRST legit socially distant virtual quarantined-shot feature that abides 100% by all social distancing guidelines. “

“Our goal is to spread some positive and exciting news out there as opposed to all death and horrible things circulating. We want to bring joy to people’s threads and give the horror community something to look forward to and an entertaining distraction from the real world.”

Dark Offerings was co-written by Slabine and his wife, Elizabeth Piper S. an award winning actress, producer and make up artist in both creature effects and beauty make-up (Evil,Orange Is The New Black, The Last Call). She has her own line of FX Blood product called CINE BLOOD: TYPE O that would make every costume department happy since “it comes out of everything.”

Elizabeth Piper S. will step in front of the camera with a cast that includes Clifton Dunn (The Paper Store), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp, Victor Crowley), and Terry Alexander (Day of the Dead, Conspiracy Theory).

Also cast: Paul Sheehan (SuperCapitalist, 4 Assassins), Michael Leavy (Terrifier, Penance Lane) Jason Leavy (Abnormal Attraction, Terrifier) and Lydia Kalmen.

Tina Nikolova, Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), Shawn C. Phillips (Ghost Shark, Dead Ant) and Tamara Glynn (Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Terrifier 2) round out the cast of The Dark Offerings.

I found out that Elizabeth Piper S. and Marcus Slabine went to see our very own Tom Holland’s Fright Night on their first date and had a bit of Fright Night theme at their wedding. I must say that’s impressive and I can’t wait to see what they and their cast and crew dream up for the upcoming film The Dark Offerings.

“We both set out to prove that just because the industry is shut down,”says Slabine,” doesn’t mean our creativity has to as well.”
