Victor Crowley Lives! Secret Premier Of Hatchet 4 At Arclight Hollywood
So on Tuesday night Tom Holland attended what he thought was a anniversary screening of the Adam Green film ‘Hatchet’. Stars of all three films in the franchise were in attendance as well as fans of arieScope invited to the screening by Adam Green. Oh what a treat they got! After the crowd filled the theater and got in their seats Adam made the announcement. We would not be seeing Hatchet but instead a new film. A true reboot of the franchise called ‘Victor Crowley’ with Kane Hodder reprising his classic killer role. It takes place 10 years after the killings of the first three films.
“The only survivor that was ever found was Perry Shen’s character Andrew Yong,” Green told EW in an interview last week. “Now, ten years, later, he’s kind of become a little bit of a celebrity. At one point he’s compared to ‘the OJ Simpson of Honey Island Swamp’ because most people do not buy his story, but he got off because there was no evidence that he had done it. So, some people love him, a lot of people hate him, and now he’s written a book, which he is promoting on the tenth anniversary of the events of 2007. He is convinced to do one final interview back at the scene of the massacre, where he has never returned. Simultaneously to him going back there with this camera crew, that’s going to interview him, there is something else happening that brings back a little certain somebody.”
For reasons I won’t give away, Crowley comes back and Yong has to now deal with it. Along with Hodder stars Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) as well as Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV’s Impractical Jokers).
Adam somehow managed to shoot this film in secret over the last two years and somehow he pulled off the impossible. He kept it a secret. Freaking awesome as was the film. I think fans are going to freak seeing Kane Hodder back as Crowley. The best part is the idea from him to do this was fellow filmmaker and horror icon George Romero when they had a chance to meet and talk a few years back. Adam told us his only sadness about this evening was that George couldn’t be there see it’s completion but George knew what he had been up to. I’m sure he was looking down on the crowd tonight and smiling.
The film is being produced by arieScope and Dark Sky Films. The film will screen at FrightFest London and then embark on nation wide screening tour and festival starting this October.
Adam Green, arieScope and Dark Sky films put on an amazing event this evening and the theater was packed with true fans. The film is awesome and Hatchet fans will be thrilled. I can’t thank them enough!
