When James Gunn tasks you with turning a trailer into Lego delights, you do what James Gunn asks. And when that trailer is the upcoming horror film THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, you make sure you to bring the plastic blood with you. With a new trailer in all its blocky glory, that’s exactly what Huxley Berg Studios has done.

Directed by Greg McLean and written and produced by James Gunn, THE BELKO EXPERIMENT “explores a twisted social experiment, in which a group of 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá and ordered by an unknown voice on an intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed,” as listed on the film’s Facebook page. It stars Adria Arjona, Abraham Benrubi, Michael Rooker, Tony Goldwyn, and John C. McGinley.

Taking the audio from the original trailer, the YouTube video takes each shot and replicates it using the building blocks that we’ve all grown up with. There’s even an extra special shout out to Michael Rooker, who’s lego version of his blue-skinned character Yondu from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is used in his place.

As the metal shutters seal up the office building, lego character is pitted against lego character in an extreme social experiment where each of their morals and very human instinct is tested. Who will stand their ground? And who will spray the walls with the others’ red, waxy blood? Check out the video to find out.

As the popularity of Lego based movies is starting to soar, thanks to the recent LEGO BATMAN, we’d like to see everything turned to plastic. Bring on the Lego FRIDAY THE 13TH!

The real BELKO EXPERIMENT comes to theaters March 17th.
