Psychotic cannibalistic lunatics take on two outlaw brothers in Drifter and now we have the trailer which reveals some of the carnage that takes place in an off the beaten path desert town. The film is being distributed by XLrator Media and will hit theaters on February 24th.

So it seems like this film is going for a blending of From Dusk Til Dawn and Two Thousand Maniacs. I’m always up for a new entry in the cannibal sub genre and the desert location and cinematography looks to provide a The Hills Have Eyes type of vibe to the proceedings.  Director, Chris von Hoffman had this to say about the film,

DRIFTER is a stripped down hybrid exploitation thriller heavily inspired by genre films of the 70’s and 80’s. The initial idea of two brothers finding themselves trapped in a strange town was something I started working on when I was 16. Wasn’t until almost a decade later that I started developing it into my first feature film. My plan was to make this film was straightforward as I possibly could however twist it up in an unconventional way. Hopefully sculpting a unique cinematic experience that reminds people why they love films in the first place. A celebration of the medium. A deconstruction of genre. I believe in the power and sensationalism of movies and I’m not interested in presenting social or message driven stories. I’m simply interested in making relentlessly entertaining movies that go beyond just a log line and I hope Drifter will be the entry point to kick that off.”
