Disney and Lucasfilm are hard at work looking for their new Han Solo and according Variety’s sources they’ve narrowed the list down to to about a dozen actors. Dave Franco (Now You See Me), Miles Teller (Divergent), Logan Lerman (Fury), Ansel Elgort (Divergent), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age Of Extinction), Scott Eastwood (Dawn Patrol), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) and Blake Jenner (Everybody Wants Some) are all reportedly still in the running for the role.
While the currently untitled Solo spin-off doesn’t start filming until next January the belief is that the character is been cast now to make an appearance in ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars’ which is currently being filmed. ‘Rogue One’ takes place between the events of episodes three and four so the time is right for an appearance by a young Han Solo and this would be a great way to introduce the younger version of the character.
It’s expected that the new Solo will be chosen within the next few weeks, producer Kathleen Kennedy and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be hard at work testing the young actors for the role of a lifetime.
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars’ will hit theaters December 16, 2016. The untitled Solo pic is set for May 25, 2018.
