Code Vein

Game Publisher Bandai Namco has announced a new 3rd person vampire RPG that is currently being called CODE VEIN.

Little is known about the content of the game but some new screenshots and details have come out and everything so far looks promising. The announcements have included the ability to “feast on the blood of enemies” as you explore a “massive interconnected world”. The promise of the interconnected world really gives me hope that this series (CODE VEIN) takes some heavy inspiration from the DARK SOULS series.

The game will be an action/horror RPG where you play a revenant battling through a world “full of vicious enemies and monstrous bosses”. The screenshots are incredibly vibrant and impressive and the anime stylization looks fantastic. The pictures released show a futuristic apocalyptic world full of all sorts of unexpected terrors. From the descriptions and screenshots this game has some familiar “Souls” elements with a unique setting that is heavy on style.

CODE VEIN obviously has potential to be a huge franchise. After playing BLOODBORNE I am eager to jump into another horror RPG. It is a genre that doesn’t get enough attention or content in my opinion. Hopefully games such as this one will take risks and change that.

You will be able to sink your teeth into CODE VEIN in 2018 on all major consoles.
