Here’s the pitch: an actress travels to Vegas for a convention appearance and lands in Hell. Described as a “deconstructed analogy of ‘Dante’s Inferno’,” 3rd floor is a Kickstarter film written by Nancy O’Brien (whose film In The Blood is currently on the festival circuit) and set to be helmed by director Ama Lea, who describes 3rd Floor as “a female powerhouse project” where “The Twilight Zone meets The Shining and The Sentinel.”

Kira Reed Lorsch (“Jo Connors” in the Emmy award-winning series The Bay) is cast as the lead, Jane, a washed-up model in her mid-forties who’s stuck in a troubled relationship with Jack, her live-in boyfriend. Shortly after she discovers more lies, she rushes off to Las Vegas to reignite her career, and regain her independence. Things don’t go exactly as planned and her life changes forever. Some people are haunted, and Jane discovers she has more in common with the people she meets at the hotel, than she ever imagined.

Additional casting is already off the chain with horror stalwarts Monique Parent (Cuck), William McNamara (Argento’s Opera), Courtney Gains (iconic Malachi of Children of the Corn), Michael St. Michaels (The Greasy Strangler), Marian Aguilera, Robert Peters (Tremors, Funhouse), Sarah Nicklin (The Haunting of Alice D), Heather Branch (Witchcraft XI, Evil Sister II: Bound by Blood), with more actors to be announced.

The project is off to a great start with a creepy poster designed by genre artist and illustrator Graham Humphreys.

Photographer and director Ama Lea is near and dear to our hearts here at Tom Holland’s Terror Time with her incredible photography (Fangoria, Delerium), including our favorite portrait of Tom. Find her and Brandon Scullion on their YouTube channel, The Midnight Company.

Perks for 3rd Floor pledges include things like t-shirts and a digital download of Graham Humphrey’s poster. For a $200 pledge you get my favorite: A Picture of Your Pet in the Film, framed and part of the set dressing. A $666 pledge gets you one of only six copies of Dante’s Inferno signed by the crew. A pledge of $1000 is an invitation to the cast and crew wrap party for 3rd Floor and is limited to three pledges.

Support your indie horror community and let’s help 3rd Floor reach it’s $10,000 goal by June 12th! Give what you can and please share the 3rd Floor‘s Kickstarter campaign far and wide.
