Last years fans had their hopes trashed for a new ‘Friday The 13th’ film when the script that was being written Nick Antosca was turned down in favor of another direction for the story. Then Aaron Guzikowski was hired to draft another new script but details beyond that were none.
While at WonderCon this past weekend, the website TooFab caught up with Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form and asked about the progress of the film.
“I can tell you I believe there will be a set visit for everybody soon,” Form teased, when toofab’s Brian Particelli asked for the latest on the movie, which has gone through numerous delays following the 2009 release of a franchise reboot.”
When Andrew Form was pressed about if the new film would keep the 1980’s setting from Nick Antosca’s script, there was a bit of hesitation, but answered with the following:
“There is truth that this is period,” he confirmed, without saying which period it’d take place in. Fuller quickly added, “And NOT found footage.”
“We’re so lucky to have Aaron Guzikowski writing, who is a fan of the franchise,” Form added. “He’s come up with an amazing story and we can’t wait to make this one.”
The teasing has commenced as we now have to wait to see what may come but this is very hopeful news for ‘Friday The 13th’ fans.
