Tales From The Crypt Reboot Is No More

M. Knight Shyamalan‘s reboot on the cult hit series ‘Tales from The Crypt’ has been put back on the shelf for now. maybe it will come back to life another day but it will not be today. The legalities of making that series proved to big to tackle.

When it was announced last year many fans were thrilled. There were some crazy rumors he was going to abandon the Crypt Keeper which drove fans crazy and they let Shyamalan know via social media they were not down with that idea. Regardless it looks like the show will not continue as the the copyright holders of the franchise could not all agree on a deal to make the series become a reality.

President of TNT Network Kevin Reilly said in a recent interview –

“That one got really caught up in a complete legal mess unfortunately with a very complicated underlying rights structure. We lost so much time, so I said, “Look, I’m not waiting around four years for this thing.” Maybe that will come back around but in the meantime, Ridley Scott had come up, who has so much creative enthusiasm.”

Shyamalan won’t suffer as he just announced there will be a sequel to ‘Split’ and his other film ‘Unbreakable’. Hence the Bruce Willis cameo at the end of ‘Split’. Still, fans were hyped at the idea of Tales coming back but I’d rather they stick on a shelf then make a piece of junk.
