This is news! There’s a new addition to the Season 6 cast of The Walking Dead. Luck alum Tom Payne has landed the role of Paul Monroe (aka Jesus) in AMC’s zombie drama.

The casting was revealed after ET published some of the first on-set photos of the upcoming season that included what appeared to be a new mystery actor. Some digging determined it was, in fact, new comic character Jesus played by Payne in a recurring role.

The series starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes returns Sunday, October 11 at 9 PM with a 90-minute premiere episode. The Walking Dead is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero and Tom Luse. Along with Lincoln, it stars Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green, Alanna Masterson, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Tovah Feldshuh, Ross Marquand, Alexandra Breckenridge and Austin Nichols.
