The Walking Dead: Our World Mobile Game

The Walking Dead – Our World Mobile Video Game – Zombies In Your Town

Last year it was Pokemon GO. Forget that noise. Get ready to load up the new mobile game The Walking Dead: Our World from AMC and Next Games.  A location-based augmented reality mobile game for iOS and Android. Fight walkers on the streets, in the park, on your sofa, wherever and whenever you want.

The Walking Dead – Our World does seem to share a lot in common with the popular Pokemon-based game from which this is taking it’s cues.

It appears that in the game, you’ll be interacting with your surroundings just as much as you’ll be dealing with in-game creatures and events. There will be areas that are more prone to zombie attacks and places where others in your geographical area can meet.

This seems to be an interesting development from Next, the maker of the app, as no other location-based game has yet to eclipse Pokemon Go’s success. However, most games similar to the trailblazer do not have the built in audience which The Walking Dead enjoys, which may mean the game could be adopted on a much wider scale than even the creators are envisioning.

The CEO of Next released a statement that made it seem like the game is going to put the user into a situation where they will really have to “survive” a zombie apocalypse. While there isn’t a release date for the mobile game yet (we will post an update when there is) it’s likely to be the first game of it’s kind to do something like this on such a massive scale.

For all the talk that keyboard warriors put out there regarding their survival strategies in a real zombie takeover scenario, there will finally be a way to at least somewhat prove it without the nasty after effects of the world being turned into a wasteland.

The developer – Next Games – has already released one TWD game which many people who have it simply refer to it as “No Man’s Land”. That title has been downloaded more than 15 million times. While it’s too early to tell how many players “Our World” is going to have, Pokemon Go has been downloaded more than 500 million times, or by about 1 in every 14 people on Earth.
